About Kaley

Why did you become a nurse practitioner?

I've always wanted to help people and I've always been passionate about women's health. I worked as a labor and delivery nurse and saw the vast difference a well-prepared, dedicated, and compassionate provider can make in the patient experience. This, along with my desire to further my education, steered me toward nurse practitioner school. Throughout my NP training, I found that nurse practitioners have a unique education in creating lasting and fulfilling relationships with patients that involve whole-patient centered care and education.

What do you like about providing care to teens/kids?

I love providing healthcare to kids and teens because I love empowering them through education! There is so much power in knowing about your own health and your own body, and I believe that kids and teens are traditionally not involved in their own healthcare decision making. Being a provider specifically for this population allows me the amazing opportunity to help teach kids and teens that they are in charge of their own bodies and have the right to make decisions for themselves.

What is the best part of your job?

Educating kids, teens, and adults alike about pediatric and adolescent development, unique needs, and decision making. I love being able to connect with patients and their families.

What is your favorite?

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

The Santa Clause

What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong

What is your favorite part about living in Colorado?

300 days of sunshine! Also that we get to experience all 4 seasons...just when I think I've had enough winter, it turns into spring!

What is your favorite food that you make?

My favorite food to make is homemade bread every week-it's so much more tasty than store bought!

When you were 10, what did you want to be when you grew up?

An oral surgeon. My dad was an orthodontist and I loved being at his office with him and seeing him work.

What was your favorite hobby when you were a kid, and now as an adult?

As a kid, I loved swimming, playing tennis, and reading.

As an adult, I love the same...swimming, playing tennis, and reading! I also love to cook and do yoga.
